On Tuesday, November 26, 2019,  Northwest welcomed over 50 Northwest alumni, parents, and community members to join our student body for the 5th annual Find Your Future Fair.

This full-day event is one of the many opportunities available to Northwest High School students to engage in career exploration as they progress toward their future goals after graduation. At this conference-style event the entire student body had the opportunity to choose four presentations to attend based on their own career pathways.

The presenters gave very real and personal stories of how they chose their careers, the realities of life in that career, the education their careers require, and the important skills they must possess to be successful in their chosen field.

Our goal is for our students to explore career options, to see what their Northwest education can prepare them for, and to become familiar with job fields available in Jackson.

This year we were extremely honored to welcome back as our keynote speaker Northwest alum,  Dr. Nick Whitney who spoke to our students about the journey he took from the halls of Northwest to studying sharks.

This event is an important step in adhering to our goal of having 100% of our graduates engaged in a post-secondary plan for continued education or employment.

Find Your Future Fair relies on the participation of our graduates and community members to come and share their work experiences with our students. If you’d like to be part of next year’s event, please follow this link to sign up!
